Finding skilled and industry ready workforce continues to remain a challenge for life sciences industries, especially pharmaceutical and biotechnology businesses. On the other hand, every year a large number of science graduates pass out from academic institutions across the country with job aspirations, but not necessarily equipped with the skills needed by most industries.
With a vision to help contribute solutions to this critical issue, GV Academy of Life Sciences has been conceptualized.
GVALS is an industry-led skill development initiative that helps bridge skill gaps in the life sciences by providing hands-on training and professional development programs. The focus is on nurturing and developing highly skilled entry-point and mid-management workforce through such programs.
The programs offered at GVALS aim to empower the life sciences workforce with advanced in-lab training through skills development essential to build a promising career in the life science industry and for furthering science.

The Vision
Through well thought out and carefully curated courses by an expert panel of industry and academia representatives, the Academy aspires to strengthen the life sciences workforce to demonstrate exceptional hands-on skills which are in line with the rapidly changing technologies and closely aligned to industry requirements.
Truly fostering the industry-academia spirit, GVALS is situated in the heart of Genome Valley© (GV), Hyderabad – India’s first systematically planned life sciences cluster.
Genome Valley is a perfect blend of knowledge parks, special economic zones (SEZs), multi-tenanted lab space buildings, incubation facilities, office spaces and outstanding support facilities. It has a healthy mix of companies from CROs, bio pharma, vaccine manufacturing, agri-bio, regulatory and testing, making it one of the most vibrant clusters today in India. It houses over 200 life science companies, including some of the world´s fastest growing MNCs.
The Academy is part of a vibrant multi-tenanted life sciences campus – Touchstone Square©. Built with a mandate of advocating green buildings and clean manufacturing facilities, Touchstone Square is spread across 8.06 acres in Synergy Square II, within Genome Valley. The total project of 4,00,000 sq.ft. is ideal for R&D and clean manufacturing companies.
GVALS has dedicated facility with a real-time laboratory for simulated learning, training facilities, workstations, etc. among other features. The students have the unique opportunity to experience first-hand what it means to be a part of the industry cluster, network and grow in their professional maturity.
